Boiler installation in South Shields and across the North East

A new boiler is a big purchase, and it should be sized and fitted properly. Hasmart's Gas Safe registered engineers survey your home, recommend the right boiler and controls, and fit it to the manufacturer's standards, so your warranty is valid from day one.

Which boiler do you need?

Combi boiler

Heating and hot water on demand from one compact unit, with no hot water cylinder or loft tanks. Suits most flats and small to medium homes.

System boiler

Works with a hot water cylinder but no loft tanks. Good for homes with more than one bathroom, where several taps run at once.

Regular boiler

Also called a heat-only or conventional boiler, with a cylinder and loft tanks. Often the simplest like-for-like replacement in older homes.

We'll recommend a type and size based on your home, the number of bathrooms, your water pressure and how you use hot water, rather than fitting the biggest boiler available. If a different setup would suit you better, such as converting an old system to a combi, we'll explain the costs and benefits.

What's included in a Hasmart boiler installation

  • A free survey of your existing system, gas supply, flue route and water pressure
  • Removal and disposal of your old boiler
  • Cleaning the system (a chemical clean or power flush, depending on its condition) and adding inhibitor
  • A magnetic system filter to protect the new boiler
  • Controls that meet current building regulations, such as a smart or programmable thermostat
  • Gas tightness testing, commissioning and a full handover
  • Building Regulations notification through the Gas Safe Register
  • Registering the boiler with the manufacturer so your warranty is in place

Questions we get asked

How long does a boiler installation take?

Swapping one boiler for a similar one in the same place usually takes a day. Moving the boiler, re-routing the flue or converting to a combi typically takes two to three days.

Will I need to replace my radiators?

Not usually. We check the radiators and pipework at survey and only recommend changes where they're needed, for example a radiator that's leaking or too small for the room.

Do you register the warranty?

Yes. We register the boiler with the manufacturer once it's installed. To keep the warranty valid, the boiler normally needs servicing every year, which we can do for you.

Can I move my boiler to a different room?

Often, yes. It depends on the gas supply, flue route and condensate drain. We'll tell you at survey what's possible and what it adds to the cost.
