Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)
An EICR is a detailed inspection and test of a property's fixed wiring. It checks for damage, wear, overloading and anything that doesn't meet current safety standards, and grades any issues by urgency.
Landlords: in England, private landlords must have the electrical installation inspected and tested at least every five years, give a copy of the report to tenants, and carry out any remedial work the report requires. We can combine an EICR with an annual gas safety check.
Homeowners: an EICR is worth having when you buy an older home, before major renovation work, or if the wiring hasn't been checked for ten years or more.
Certified and notified
Hasmart is NAPIT registered (34005). All our work is tested and certified, and notifiable work is registered under the Building Regulations for you, so you get the right certificate for your records and for when you sell.
Electrics for solar, batteries and EV chargers
Because we install solar panels, batteries and EV chargers, we're used to checking whether a property's supply and consumer unit can take new equipment, and to planning upgrades so everything works together.
Commercial electrical work
We carry out electrical installations and testing for offices, shops, care homes and other commercial premises, including periodic inspection and testing, and we work with facilities managers and main contractors.

“Had solar installation carried out this week by Antonio and the team. Excellent experience from start to finish, everything was explained to me as the installation progressed. All work was done to a high standard and they kept my home clean and tidy.”
Questions we get asked
How often does a rental property need an EICR?
In England, at least every five years, or sooner if the previous report says so. Tenants must be given a copy.
How long does an EICR take?
For a typical house, around three to four hours. The power is off for some of that time while circuits are tested.
Do I get a certificate for new electrical work?
Yes. You'll get an Electrical Installation Certificate or Minor Works Certificate, and notifiable work is registered with Building Control through NAPIT.
